Position Summary

The information technology systems coordinator will oversee the effective operation and management of the information systems and related services functions. Coordinate staff members, support vendors and projects. The coordinator establishes effective communication with appropriate executives and managers to ensure effective information technology needs are met. The coordinator is responsible for resource allocations and special projects including budgeting and personnel management based on the current needs of the studio. Would need to be a readily available technical problem solver. In some cases, a hero for the technically challenged.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Coordinating IT activities for the company; helping direct operations of company-wide information systems, including telecommunications and data networks.

  • Providing hands-on involvement and support of technology projects and being accountable for ultimate success of such projects.

  • Evaluates business needs, objectives, and goals by researching available products and designating procedures to best meet those needs.

  • Work with/seek out vendors to provide the best solutions for specific project needs.

  • Establishing technology standards and methods of evaluating applications; planning and executing feasibility studies

  • Developing plans for acquisition and installation of equipment and software for new projects by coordinating processes with project leader.

  • Provides well-defined plans including procedures, deadlines, and accountability

  • Develops configuration and performance standards. Implements and monitors controls to ensure such maintenance. Develop and maintain a Disaster Recovery Plan

  • Coordinating the work of the IT staff

  • Keeping informed of new developments and trends; making recommendations to senior management on desirable additions or replacements with new and/or emerging technologies.

  • Implementing new systems to create efficiencies in the IT Dept.

  • Making an inventory of all IT hardware and software, keeping inventory updated and informing studio heads on a regular basis

  • Reviews periodically department procedures, staffing and equipment for maximum efficiency while controlling costs.

  • Performing other work-related duties as assigned and be available for any potential after hours emergencies.

  • Develops configuration and performance standards. Implements and monitors controls to ensure such maintenance. Develop and maintain a Disaster Recovery Plan

  • Coach and direct staff in operational activities to ensure compliance with departmental goals, objectives, and budget. Conduct Team meetings in accordance with overall strategy.

  • Ensures technology utilization providing a fast, accurate, and secure method to access information in a highly efficient and effective manner. Ensures service support in a professional, courteous, and timely manner

  • Monitor Help Desk tickets, escalating serious issues when necessary, while maintaining IT procedures and workflows

  • Perform computer setups and software/plug-in installs for arriving artists in the morning

  • Support with helping identify and troubleshooting of TCP/IP layer 2/3 LAN/WAN networks, escalating issues when necessary

  • Support hosted services and cloud computing environments escalating issues when necessary

  • Preferred experience working on animated productions (2D, Stop-motion, 3D)

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent education/experience

  • 1+ Year(s) support experience in an entertainment production environment

  • Proficient with the Mac OS Windows environment

  • Ability to install/image workstations, servers, networks and related hardware and software

  • Experience with Cloud hosted services such as: O365, G-Suite, etc.

  • Experienced with network hardware and protocols

  • Excellent troubleshooting Skills

  • Excellent communication skills a must

  • Flexibility and a Sense of Humor

  • Preferred experience working on animated productions (2D, Stop-motion, 3D)

  • Knowledge of Creative applications: Adobe Creative Suite, Flash, Premiere, etc.
